The Sphinx, the host and creator of the game.

Annabeth, the only known player.

Answer That Riddle is a quiz game invented by the Sphinx. The Sphinx used to ask travelers one specific riddle, but when everyone learned the answer to it, she was forced to change the riddle. However, instead of asking different riddles, she changed all her questions into random trivia, but still called these trivia questions riddles. The questions do not have a specific topic they're focused on, but are random. When you have marked the sheet, it goes into the "answer machine."

It involves answering twenty random questions that are supposed to be riddles. It is required to correctly answer all twenty in order to get out alive. Otherwise the Sphinx will devour the player (or let another player take a chance if there are more than one). The player must fill in a bubble with a #2 pencil to mark their answer. Their answer will then be scored by a scoring machine made by Hephaestus.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians

The Battle of the Labyrinth

Annabeth Chase played Answer That Riddle, but stopped because she felt it was insulting her intelligence, despite Percy Jackson was urging her to finish (so that they could get out of there).
