Deimos is the Greek god of terror and the son of Ares and Aphrodite. He and his twin brother, Phobos, were responsible for stealing Ares' chariot from Clarisse in The Demigod Files. In ancient myths, he accompanied Ares in his war chariot together with his brother Phobos. His Roman counterpart is Metus.
They then hid it in the Staten Island Zoo and used it as bait for their sister and Percy Jackson. Phobos fought Percy but was defeated and disappeared. Deimos changed his appearance to match Ares in order to scare Clarisse. He too disappeared, after Clarisse overcame her fear.
While underground in Phobos's and Deimos's temple, Piper McLean and Annabeth Chase fight the giant Mimas. Piper sacrifices her cornucopia to her brothers. After Mimas's defeat, the face of Deimos on the wall falls onto the giant, killing him. As only a god and demigod together can kill a giant, presumably Deimos caused this to happen to kill Mimas. Then Piper thanks her brothers, and requests a way out of the cave. Phobos opens up a tunnel for them to get back to the surface.
Appearance
Deimos is described as a muscular teenage boy, dressed in jeans, a black shirt, and a leather jacket and a brutal face covered with scars. He is known to be more aggressive than his brother, Phobos.
Abilities
Deimos has the standard powers of a god
Terror Generation: Deimos has the ability to bring terror to a large crowd. In The Demigod Files, he brings a large sea monster that scares many mortals.
Poor Swordsmanship: Despite being a son of Ares, Deimos is a terrible swordsman, being that he never needed to use sword fighting skills, due to him always relying on his terror-bringing ability.
Statue Manipulation: In The Blood of Olympus, Deimos was apparently able to bring a statue of himself down upon Mimas without seeming to be physically present.
