The Washington Monument, the most powerful obelisk in the United States
An obelisk, is a tall, narrow, four-sided, tapering monument which ends in a pyramid-like shape at the top, and is meant to represent a frozen ray of sunlight, especially from the sun god, Ra. They, like pyramids, can be used as a kind of portal, and also usually has Egyptian heiroglyphs etched into the material. Cleopatra's Needle is the obelisk that Sadie and Carter's mother died on. They are needed to trap or release a god. Ma'at energy collects in these monuments because of their symbolic magic and it can be drawn out to sustain magic by gods.
