Hippolytos fought the Seven in the final battle of the Second Gigantomachy, and was ultimately brought down and killed by the combined efforts of some of the Seven and Hermes, after which Hades (invisible with his Helm of Darkness) opened up an abyss under the fallen giant's body, sending Hippolytos back to Tartarus.
Hippolytos is a thirty foot tall giant, with his skin and dragon feet burnt orange. Hippolytos wears a massive velor tracksuit with gold chains around his neck, while his long black hair was greased back, making him look like a mobster, according to Piper.
- Giant Immortality: As a giant, Hippolytos can only be killed by a god and demigod working together, and when he is harmed by anybody else, he heals at an accelerated rate.
- In Percy Jackson's Greek Gods, a different Hippolytos appears, as the asexual and aromantic male companion of Artemis and the son of the famous hero Theseus. Hippolytos was killed by his father through Aphrodite's manipulation, but later revived from death by Asclepius and sent to Italy as a priest of Artemis' sacred shrine, where he would live to a ripe old age.
