You mean the girl who put the arrows in my helmet?

Connor Stoll on Phoebe

Phoebe was a demigod and the Hunters' best tracker and healer in the Hunters of Artemis before her death.

History

ArtemisGG

Artemis, her mistress.

She was older than Zoë Nightshade and was with the Hunters when Orion came. It makes sense as she was shown to be extremely suspicious of men, such as the time she was reluctant to leave Thalia alone with Jason and Leo, as Leo thinks she is looking at them "like they might kidnap Thalia or something," since young women were kidnapped frequently during that time.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians

The Titan's Curse

Phoebe gained the Stoll brothers' hatred by besting them and shooting them in Capture the Flag, and as a result, they gave her a T-shirt that was poisoned with Centaur Blood, that caused her skin to erupt with painful hives, preventing her from going on the quest. This was also at the request of Aphrodite. Phoebe was the Hunter who had gotten in a fight with an Ares camper while shooting hoops at the basketball court. She also had arm wrestled with Bianca and won, although Bianca didn't mind.

The Last Olympian

Phoebe was probably with the Hunters when they helped defend Manhattan and survived.

The Heroes of Olympus

The Lost Hero

Phoebe arrived with the rest of the Hunters when they fought off a pack of Lycaon's wolves who were attacking Jason, Piper, Leo, and Coach Hedge. After Thalia realizes who Jason is, she asks Phoebe to help set up a camp and take care of Piper (who was suffering from hypothermia) with Coach Hedge. She took a quick glance at Leo and Jason, as if she thought they might abduct Thalia. Later, Thalia decides to help take Jason's group to see Aeolus in his flying castle while the rest of the Hunters track down Lycaon.

Phoebe was most likely with Thalia when they tried to defend the Wolf House from an army of lycanthropes and the Earthborn.

The Blood of Olympus

In The Blood of Olympus, Phoebe was shot down after Orion broke into the Amazon Warehouse while conversing with Reyna, Hylla, and some of the Hunters and Amazons.

Abilities

  • Immortality due to being one of Artemis' hunters (except if she falls in battle or breaks her oath).
  • Expert archer and skilled with hunting knives.
  • Highly skilled hunter.
  • Could make a bow appear or disappear at any given time.
  • Highly skilled at tracking.
  • Highly skilled healer.
  • She had silver colored aura.
  • She was naturally stronger and faster than a regular mortal, demigod, or nymph.
  • She usually had the upper hand in battle because of her fighting powers.
  • She could talk to wild animals.

Weaknesses

  • Can die if beaten in battle or if her immortality is revoked, whether forced or voluntarily.
  • Was reluctant to accept help from men and campers from Camp Half-Blood.

Appearance

In The Titan's Curse, Phoebe is called beefy and big. She is said to have beaten Bianca many times at arm wrestling, but Bianca didn't seem to mind. As mentioned in The Blood of Olympus, Phoebe has ginger hair.

Personality

Phoebe was very easily aggravated and quickly violent, as shown later in the book. She was also the hunters' best tracker and healer. She also was distrusting of all men as shown when she was unwilling to leave Thalia alone with Jason and Leo, thinking that they would kidnap her or something. This may have been a result of the Stoll brothers injuring her with Centaur Blood.

Trivia

  • Phoebe is also the name of the twin archers' grandmother, who was one of the first generation Titans.
  • Phoebe was one of only five deceased Hunters of Artemis mentioned by name (Bianca di Angelo, Zoë Nightshade, Celyn, Naomi, Phoebe being the others).
