We have seen that some weapons are magical in nature - Riptide, Ivlivs, Maimer, and Aegis to name a few - and these weapons each have their own special features. Riptied and Ivlivs can both return to their weilder when lost, and those two, along with Aegis, can transform from innocent looking items (Riptied from a pen, Ivlivs from a coin, and Aegis from a silver bracelet) for easy transportation. We also have seen that each of these items have some additional magical property - Riptide glows more than the average Celestial Bronze weapon, Ivlivs assists Jason with the summuning and directing of Lightning he summons, Maimer generates electricity to damage its targets, and Aegis generates a fear aura that has only a little to do with the gorgon head its decerated with. What if these weapons are those that use special forging processes (in the case of Riptide, Maimer and Aegis being forged by Cyclopes and cooled in the River Lethe, and Ivlivs being forged and blessed in the original Temple of Jupiter), while the rest are, well, not made in such special circumstances (Celestial Bronze forged at camp and Imperial Gold blessed in whatever the Roman camp version of the temple is)? Or do you think there is a different process that makes them better than the average weapon we see the campers use?

I think they seem more special because those ones you mentioned (don't forget Nico's sword) were apparently gifts from their godly parents, rather than normal weopons made at the camp forge. We can assume Ivlivs was a gift too. ICame2Play (talkcontribs) 10:09, June 5, 2011 (UTC)

Stygian Iron is OP[]

In the Stygian Iron section, it says that the metal can possibly be utilized to kill off a monster completely. But wouldn't some elder god have done that a long time ago in order to just get rid of them? Can this statement be removed on the grounds of logical inconsistency? {{SUBST:User:Whathopercy/Sig}} 02:04, August 5, 2014 (UTC)
