No. Percy and Annabeth are always safe, they are not going to die.
Seriously, you didn't think anyone would die?
Frankly I had my money on a dead Grover for at least a few months. After being demoted to extra and coming back as a protagonist...how was he not killed?
So, any spotting of non-Greek god references? First two books nicely confirmed a few ones, and I'm curious if Apollo had any nuggets.
"I can only handle so many pranksters. Hermes, Coyote, the list goes on and one"
"Doom is everywhere. Even Connecticut has doom, his name is Hobbomock. He likes clams."
"Swords always had gimmicks these days. Coins, pens, being stuck in stone, Apollo remembered the day when swords were just made by people in forges and that was that."

Excluding Percy and Annabeth, Jason was the only character i was certain that wouldn't die, oh well.
I didn't think that Riordan can kill one of the main characters, too. I thought some characters maybe will die, like Josephine, Em, some demigods and people, but I didn't think that Riordan would kill one of his main characters. Because, this has never happened before. He didn't kill any of the main characters before. Luke was a main character, but he doesn't count because tecnically he wasn't one of the main 'hero' of the story. In the books, always minor and side characters ended up dying. Like Zoe and Bianca, we only knew them through one book. Charles and Silena, was also side characters. Bob, Damasen ect were side characters too. But on the other hand, we have 7 main characters in the HoO, and none of them died. That's why I didn't think Riordan can really kill one of the 7. I didn't think that he can kill Grover, either. Because he was one of the main characters in the Pjo series. And, when I was read that he killed Jason, I was surprised. Because Riordan is/was not kind of a writer who kills his own main characters.
Weren't there complaints about Rick R. 'not' doing enough to spice things up with his writing?
Yes. I'm sad about Jason's death. But that was kind of needed. tho, If one of the Giants or Gaea killed him rather than Caligula, it could be more fine.
I feel that Rick heard our complaints that the gigantes were not worthy replacement antagonists for the Titan Army...
That was kind of true. Gaea was Earth, and supposedly Giants were stronger, capable, dangerous and real threats. But they were suck. I never saw laughable villains like Giants before. Gaea as Earth itself, didn't do anything to 7. So, We needed a real villain and an actual threat, and we got Caligula.
I wanted Jasper to split, but i didn't want him to die. Personally, I felt this was a very Disney-type romance with a love-at-first-sight cliche, so I was like, happy, when they actually became sensible and understood they are not good together. I also thought Jason was a slightly underdeveloped hero, who was raised from birth to be one, whereas Percy didn't even know he was a demigod till he was twelve.
Yes, please! There are like 15 Burning Maze threads there now.
