The Unnamed Sleep Spell is a powerful spell to put people to sleep.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians[]

The Last Olympian[]

A huge spell was cast by Hecate to put millions of mortals in Manhattan to sleep in order to prepare the battleground for the Second Titan War. This spell also created a barrier around Manhattan, causing any mortal who passed it, or who was already within it, to fall instantly asleep. The spell had a drastic effect on the safety of Manhattan's citizens, as many mortals fell asleep behind the wheel. Fortunately, the spell was slow-acting and gave drivers a chance to pull over before they succumbed. During the Battle of Manhattan, many stranded cars were removed from the streets by demigods; a pretzel vendor's cart also caught fire and was extinguished by Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase, who came across a baby carriage containing a poodle rolling down a street soon after.

Trivia[]

  • According to Silena Beauregard, if a magic user wanted to put millions of mortals to sleep, they would have to cast a very thin layer of magic and putting demigods to sleep is much harder.
