I'm scared

Hey, again. I was wondering if Arachne is a monster, or if she's immortal/goddess of spiders. You're probably thinking, "Why can't you just check it yourself?" Well, as my this says, I have arachnophobia. Literally, I do, since I was 2. So, it would help if you could tell me. Now you're thinking, "Why do you need this information if you're afraid of spiders?" Because I'm curious, we all get curious once in awhile. So, fell free to answer.
