I know this may sound a bit weird, but I want to know what everyone else thinks of it. In The Son of Neptune, Mars acted like Mr. D in more way than one.
- Mars doesn't seem to really care about most of the demigods.
- Mars gives some of the demigods nicknames ("Centerion Skish-kabob.")
- And Mars only seems to care about his kid (aka, Frank)
I think Rick sort of repeated a personality here. It did fill in the empty spot in my heart that Mr. D left when he went back to Olympus :)

Okay. I have been rereading The Son of Neptune, and I noticed something that happened in Percy's first dream in the book. Here's the passage:
"He (Percy) saw a huge ship in a dry dock, workers scrambling to finish the hull, a guy with a blowtorch welding a bronze dragon figurehead to the prow. He (Percy) saw the war god stalking toward him in the surf, a sword in his hands..."
What? The guy welding is Leo Valdez, but why did Ares/Mars mentioned? And why does he have a sword and stalking behind Leo?!? If anyone has ANY ideas or knows, please tell me. I am sort of confused...
